Another ambient song thing I made while I was sad.

Made this song while I was feeling down in the dumps. Also including a remaster of a song I made last year. It was very very quiet, so I made it louder to fit with this new song.

They're a bit harsh on the ears sometimes, but there's only so much I can do with the shitty recordings I made.

I used my tape machine for both of these tracks, bringing them into the physical world as part of the process. You can do this with software plugins, but I find that using my (mediocre but still useful) hardware is a very fun part of the process that I enjoy doing. There's a lot of discussions to be had about gear acquisition syndrome and the mental blockage that capitalism induces in us, but I also find that certain pieces of hardware can be built or located for affordable prices. These pieces of hardware influence what you do with your music in some way, and maybe have personal history for you, but ultimately what matters is just actually going and making music even if you don't have gear. You can make music from anything and record it with anything that records. For me though, part of the fun is building my own gear and modifying things I find at the thrift store to make music.

Also I've been working on a lot of stuff behind the scenes, learning a ton about things. I've been busy with college as well, but I still have every intention of uploading stuff here as time goes on.
